The 2018 CrossFit Open - Are You Ready?

Countdown until The Open

The Open is the first stage of the CrossFit Games season and is the largest community event of the year. Every year, hundreds of thousands of athletes come together to compete in the worldwide, online competition. 


Anyone over the age of 14 or older can compete. All you have to do is sign up at and log your score each week. Workouts are released on Thursdays at 5 p.m. PT, and athletes have four days to complete the workout for the week and submit their score. Scores are due before 5 p.m. PT the following Monday. Complete the workouts at a CrossFit affiliate with a judge (Iron Bridge is an affiliate), or film your effort from anywhere in the world and submit a link as proof. 


The Open offers two versions of each workout, scaled and Rx’d. The scaled option makes the event all-inclusive. All athletes can compare their results to others worldwide, regionally, by age, or within their own gyms. An official CrossFit Games app will be available in late January, which will focus on your own personal performance in The Open. 


At the end of five weeks, the fittest move on to the next stages of competition: The Regionals and the Online Qualifier.

Every Thursday during The Open (February 22 - March 22), we will host viewing parties at the box. Can you think of a better way learn of Dave Castro's (CrossFit Games Director) announcement of that week's WOD than hanging in the gym with fellow CrossFit enthusiasts?! Bring your friends and families and learn of your workout fate live at 8 p.m. ET.

Friday Night Lights:

All Friday classes at the box will perform The Open WOD that was released the night prior. Classes will begin at regular scheduled times with a review of the WOD standards and rules. We then will assign heat times in an effort to make the timeline (especially with larger classes) smooth. Please be prepared to judge a fellow athlete while they're completing the workout. Athletes will be expected to warm up on their own, but we will post a warm up on the white board for athletes to follow. Those who are registered for The Open will receive priority when it comes to equipment, judges and heat times.

If you're interested in becoming a registered judge for The Open, please complete the CrossFit Judges course online at The judges course is the fifth option on the page. Please let Coach Shannon know if you have completed the course.

We will NOT have open gym times on Fridays during The Open. Come in, cheer on your fellow Athletes and enjoy the atmosphere of the box!

8 a.m. - OLY Lifting Class with Coach Pat

9 a.m. - Comp Train Class (The Open WOD will be the workout)

10 a.m. - Fit Fam

7-11 a.m. - Open Gym


Monday During The Open

Our Monday schedule will remain the same, however, athletes will have the choice of repeating (or completing for the first time) The Open WOD from the prior Thursday.

Friday, March 23rd - Iron Bridge Oyster Roast & Chili Cook-Off

To celebrate a great Open coming to a close, we are hosting an Oyster Roast and Chili Cook-Off at the box following our 5:30 p.m. class. Everyone is welcome to join and celebrate five weeks of hard work, memorable workouts and countless PRs! Be on the lookout for additional information.
