2 COMMUNITIES | 1 VISION | 1 FUTURE
WHY THIS MERGER?
The idea of merging the two locations came to life during a conversation between the owners of Iron Bridge and Spartina (months ago - Pre-COVID). During many conversations, Shannon, Donnie and Brittani realized their goals and visions were the same: To create a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive fitness and wellness environment in West Ashley. A space where people can come as they are and join a community that helps push them to achieve their goals.
Iron Bridge and Spartina share the same vision - but have operated in silos. Shannon and Brittani agreed uniting the two communities would create a stronger force to achieve these common goals.
Both communities have individual strengths that complement each other. Merging the two will create even more opportunities for our members and the greater West Ashley community.
IS THE NAME CHANGING?
The Iron Bridge name will remain as we phase out “Spartina.” Our new logo will pay tribute to Spartina with an added Spartina grass feature. An unveiling of the logo to come.
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT MY MEMBERSHIP?
You’ll have the freedom to explore both locations during Phase 1 of the merger.
Phase 1 of the Merger: June 15 - September, 2020:
During phase one, members of both Iron Bridge and Spartina can use either location (see below more information regarding schedules). During this time, membership prices will not change for anyone.
Spartina Members: You’ll be added to the Iron Bridge “Push Press” system, allowing you to reserve and attend classes at Iron Bridge. Iron Bridge uses “SugarWOD” for programming, so you will also be added to that platform.
Iron Bridge Members: Spartina class times will be added to PushPress, so you can register for a class through the same platform you currently use for Iron Bridge.
Phase 2 of the Merger: October 1, 2020 - Beynd:
Phase 2 will focus on the full merge of both locations. Membership prices will be adjusted so they are standard for everyone. If your membership price changes, you will receive a 30-45 day notice. Phase 2 may include additional classes added at Iron Bridge, or the relocation of the gym entirely. Additional details to be announced.
WHY TWO LOCATIONS DURING PHASE 1?
Lease: Spartina’s lease is active through September 2020. Even during a pandemic, lease laws apply. Due to COVID-19 class number restrictions, we have decided to utilize both locations to adhere to social distancing parameters. Read more about schedules below.
Breaking up classes: With two accessible locations during Phase 1, we have the ability to host a kids class or speciality class at one location, and regular classes at the other.
WILL IRON BRIDGE MOVE FACILITIES?
This is a possibility. As our CrossFit family grows, we will seek and create a premier facility to relocate to within the West Ashley area. We will continue to update the community as we iron out more details.
WHO IS COACHING?
A bedrock for any CrossFit gym is the coaching team. Coach Shannon will remain the head coach and programmer while we merge coaching staffs. Familiar faces and coaching methods from both Iron Bridge and Spartina will remain during this merger.
Iron Bridge Coaches: Shannon McDaniel, Donnie McDaniel, Pat Yib, Orlando Trejo, James Bowlin, Anthony Vasquez, Jaclyn DeMiro, Dani Pollock, and Bryan Connolly.
Spartina Coaches: Brittani Hough, McKellar Proffitt, Q Caldwell, Julie Yib, Hunt Summerford, and Ashley Chrestman.
Be on the lookout for staff introductions in the future!
