Iron Bridge Athlete: Sydney Delson

What was your fitness background and what brought you to Iron Bridge CrossFit?

I used to go to karate, but when I got to be old enough, I wanted to start crossfit.

 

How has CrossFit improved your life inside and outside the gym?

I have improved a lot in my gym class, and my stamina has really been improved

 

What has been your favorite moment at IBCF?

I really enjoyed it when Iron Bridge threw me a birthday party after my wod

 

WODs and Movements - what are your favorites and what makes your palms sweat?

Abmats are my favorite, but I don't really like running for long distances

 

One piece of advice for someone new to CrossFit

 It may seem intimidating when you walk in and see how hard it looks,  but the helpful coaches and athletes will help you and cheer you on.

 

What keeps you going in a WOD when your mind is telling you to stop?

When I feel like giving up, I just say to myself "do it to become stronger" and that usually gives me the extra push. 

 

Anything else you'd like to add

I really enjoy crossfit, because of all of the fun, (and often times very hard) wods, the coaches, the athletes, the warm ups, the challenging things that make me stronger, the support, the helpful tips, the friendliness of other people, and even the occasional dog.

 

Must do in Charleston

The city market, magnolia plantation and gardens, waterfront park, Charles towne landing, rainbow row, the battery, and my favorite, watching the sunset from the beach.
